Sharon Vanessa Royal, Senior Pastor
Pastor Royal is a native of Newark, NJ, and has devoted her life to God in a desire to motivate, inspire, and uplift the Body of Christ. She has a tremendous passion for God coupled with a love for God’s people. She has a captivating spirit that flows through every facet of her ministry and personality.
She became Pastor of Jehovah Shalom Ministries in 2008. She has since transitioned that ministry under a new name and platform via Facebook, as she is currently the Founder/Organizer of Relevant Word Ministries.
By sharing the message of God’s love, it is the vision of Pastor Royal that through innovative ministry and outreach, and a Christ centered culture, broken lives will be transformed for Christ.
She began early dedicating her life in service to God. She has an extensive spiritual background where she has served in various capacities such as Youth Minister, Sunday School Teacher, Praise & Worship leader, and Choir Director. In addition to serving in several capacities of leadership, Pastor Royal is currently the Executive Administrator of Bishop Gregory Moody, Sr. for the Covenant Fellowship Assembly of Ministries in Conway, South Carolina.
Her charismatic yet authoritative style of ministering and her authentic personality filter over onto her sermons as she uses practical anecdotes and her own transparency to capture the attention of her audience.
Pastor Royal is a graduate of Universal Theological Seminary in Phoenix, AZ where she has received her B.A. in Divinity and Theological Studies and a B.A. in Christian Leadership & Management. On June 24, 2023, she received her master’s degree in theological studies and is currently pursuing her Doctorate Degree. She has also obtained various certifications in Pastoral Ministry and Christian Therapy. She believes in being a “lifetime learner” as Bishop Gregory Moody, Sr. teaches.
Pastor Royal is an anointed woman of God whose objective is to deliver the Word of God with authority, clarity, and conviction. She believes in boldly sharing the message of God to invoke awareness in motion towards transformation!

Pastor Sharon V. Royal presents “Relevant Word with Royal” on Facebook. This platform was created in response to the global shut down of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most worship services were either discontinued or changed from in-person to online.
At a time when life as we knew it changed drastically and people feared the unknown, Pastor Royal was called by God to remind people of His word and His promises. So, she delivered powerful Bible-based messages which provided motivation and encouragement which resonated with so many people.
As a result, “Relevant Word with Royal” lives on as it continues to teach people about God’s word and His promises through relatable and memorable messages.
